Westpoint fireworks 2026 is Sat 7 Nov: 300 drones, advance tickets only, gates close 7pm. Topsham RFC is the same night, £10 adult, £6 child, no parking.
Bonfire night 2026 falls on Thursday 5 November, and no Exeter fireworks display is on that night. The Westpoint fireworks 2026 show, Topsham RFC and the Double Locks bonfire have all picked the Saturday after it, Saturday 7 November. If you were planning on doing two of them, you cannot. The one thing happening on the 5th itself is the Ottery St Mary tar barrels, about 12 miles east.
Updated 16 October: added the Double Locks bonfire and fireworks night on the canal, which is selling now at £18.70 adult, £16.50 child and £64.80 for a family of four, and the Ottery St Mary tar barrels on Thursday 5 November. Westpoint and Topsham are both still on sale. Exminster Scouts and Winslade Manor have still not announced 2026 displays.

Topsham Rugby Club has its 2026 fireworks night confirmed, priced and selling. Tickets are live on its Ticket Tailor page.

On sale now: Westpoint, Saturday 7 November
The Exeter Round Table Charity Fireworks returns to Westpoint at Clyst St Mary on the same night, in aid of Devon Air Ambulance. This is the big one: Round Table calls the 2026 show “Galactic Skies” and bills it as “the largest pyro-musical display in the southwest”, with a drone show set to an “iconic galactic soundtrack” added for the first time, fired by Sonic, the 2022 British Fireworks Champions, and hosted live by Radio Exe.
What is new at Westpoint fireworks 2026
Westpoint’s own listing, rewritten since booking opened, fills in what “Galactic Skies” actually means (westpointexeter.co.uk):
- 300 drones, the first drone show at the event. Some carry their own pyrotechnics, and together they draw moving pictures over the showground, woven into the pyro-musical display by Sonic Fireworks.
- Stormtroopers in the crowd. The UK Garrison of the 501st Legion, the Star Wars costume group, will march through the site, so bring a phone for photos.
- Radio Exe on stage all night, compering and leading the countdown.
- Funfair rides, street food and bars on site.
- Gates 5.30pm, closing 7pm, at Westpoint, Clyst St Mary, EX5 1DJ. Advance tickets only, “no sales on the gate”.
If you need disabled parking or bring a carer: Devon Air Ambulance’s page says there is a limited disabled parking area for people who pre-book and upload a photo of their blue badge when booking, and that it does not give priority entry or exit. There is one free carer ticket per full price ticket, and the carer’s photo ID has to be uploaded at the time of booking (daat.org).
Booking is now open through Devon Air Ambulance’s ticket site (daat.ticketsrv.co.uk). When booking was announced in early September, the event page published these prices:

Both the Westpoint listing and the Devon Air Ambulance event page now say “ticket bookings now live”. The price table has since come off the event page, and the booking site only shows prices inside its checkout, which we could not read, so confirm the price when you book.
Three things that catch people out every year, all stated by the organisers:
- Advance sales only. “Limited advance tickets only. Once sold out they cannot be bought on the gate.”
- Your ticket type decides your gate. A shuttle bus or pedestrian ticket will not scan at the car park entrance, and there is no walking route between the car parks and the pedestrian entrance. Switching to a car park ticket on the night costs an extra £4 per adult and £3 per child, card only.
- Everyone aged three and over needs a ticket. Two and under are free.
There is a timing wrinkle worth knowing. Devon Air Ambulance’s event page now lists the event as 5pm to 9pm and says “gates open at 5.00pm”, but its important information section still says “Gates Open: 5.30pm”, as does Westpoint’s own listing, which now reads “Gates 5:30pm (close 7pm)”. Both ask you to arrive “no later than 7pm as admission will cease at 7.20pm”, while the important information section says flatly “gates close at 7pm”. Treat 5.30pm as the safe opening time and 7pm as the deadline. The event closes at 9pm.
The shuttle buses
Round Table has 2,000 discounted ECO tickets tied to Stagecoach shuttles, and the published times are:
- Park and ride: from Sowton and Honiton Road. First bus 16:40, then every few minutes until 18:25. Return from 19:30, leaving as full, last bus 21:30.
- City centre: Cheeke Street, Heavitree Shops, Heavitree Bridge, Westpoint. First bus 16:40, then every 15 minutes from Cheeke Street until 18:15. Return from 19:50, last bus 21:30.
Note the park and ride sites are free to park at, which makes the shuttle the cheapest way in for a family. Full details are on our parking in Exeter page.

On sale now: Double Locks, Saturday 7 November
The canalside pub at Double Locks runs its own bonfire and fireworks night on the same Saturday, and it is the only one of the three inside the city boundary. The listing on DesignMyNight, the pub’s booking site, read on 16 October 2026 (designmynight.com):
- Where: Double Locks, Canal Banks, EX2 6LT, on the Exeter Ship Canal
- Times: 5pm to 11pm
- Live music: Dirty Money from 6pm, and again after the display
- Fireworks: 7pm, synchronised to music, followed by the lighting of the bonfire. The pub says timings depend on the weather.
- Food: a burger shack, BBQ and hog roast, with several bars open

Those are the prices the booking page showed on 16 October, after the early-bird rate. Tickets are advance only and not sold on the night, and the pub says it “is always a sell-out event”.
There is no parking at Double Locks. The pub’s own advice is to take the train to Marsh Barton station and walk along the canal, or park in Marsh Barton and walk down. It also suggests bringing someone to walk home with if you will be drinking.

Westpoint is the biggest show and, for a family on the shuttle, the cheapest. Topsham is the only one where you might still get in on the night. Double Locks is the only one of the three with an actual bonfire, and the only one you can walk to from the city centre.
Thursday 5 November: Ottery St Mary tar barrels
If you want something on bonfire night itself, the nearest is not a fireworks display. Ottery St Mary Town Council lists its Tar Barrels for Thursday 5 November 2026: the event is held on 5 November every year unless it falls on a Sunday. Local barrel rollers run through the streets carrying lit barrels of tar on their backs, finishing in the town square with the largest, the “Midnight Barrel”.
The council says crowds can reach 15,000, roads close from about 4pm, and buses and coaches are laid on into and out of the town. It has not published a timetable for those yet (otterystmary-tc.gov.uk). It is a crowded, fast-moving event with fire at close quarters, so think carefully before taking small children.
What has changed since last year
The Round Table display moved. In 2025 it ran on Saturday 1 November with a Halloween theme, at the same prices it is charging again this year. In 2026 it has gone to 7 November, which puts it head to head with Topsham’s, and Topsham’s own 2025 night was 1 November too. Both have shifted a week, together.
Not announced yet
- Exminster Scouts and Winslade Manor both ran displays on 7 November 2025, according to Visit Exeter’s round-up for that season. Neither has published a 2026 date.
- No fireworks display near the city is scheduled for bonfire night itself, Thursday 5 November. The Ottery tar barrels, above, are the exception on the night.
- Stuart Line Cruises is listed by Visit Exeter as running a fireworks cruise on the Exe estuary this November, but no 2026 date or price had been published when we checked on 16 October.
Road and travel
No road closures have been published for either display. Round Table’s own reason for running the shuttles is blunt: “to help with the volume of car parking at Westpoint we have teamed up with Stagecoach”. Check our roadworks and travel page before you set off.
What it means for you
- All three displays are Saturday 7 November. Pick one.
- Double Locks is the walkable one, from Marsh Barton station along the canal, and the only one with a bonfire. It is the dearest per head, at £18.70 an adult.
- Topsham is bookable today and is the cheaper family option at £10 and £6, but you cannot park there.
- Westpoint is now bookable, advance only. On the prices published in September, budget £28 for a family of four on the shuttle, or £40 if you drive, and check the total at checkout.
- Do not turn up at Westpoint on spec. It is advance sales only and there is nothing on the gate once it has sold out.
- Buy the right ticket for the way you are travelling, because the scanners will refuse the wrong one at the wrong gate.
We will update this page if Westpoint or Double Locks sells out and if Exminster or Winslade Manor confirm. Neither had published a 2026 date when we checked on 16 October.
